My name is Tyler Gonser, and I’m the founder of Hometown Business Connections.
I grew up in this community. I know what it’s like to have a big idea and no one to call. I know what it’s like to work hard and feel like the deck is stacked against you. And I know what it’s like to need someone in your corner who actually believes you can do it.
That’s exactly why I built this!
Hometown Business Connections is a nonprofit based right here in Auburn, Indiana. Our mission is simple — connect local business owners, support new entrepreneurs, and build a mentorship community that lifts everyone up.
We’re just getting started, but here’s what’s already in motion:
Our first annual Networking in the Park event is coming to Rieke Park in Auburn this September. Free to attend. Food trucks welcome. A chance to meet your neighbors, build real relationships, and be part of something bigger than yourself.
We’re also building a mentorship program that pairs new entrepreneurs with experienced business leaders right here in DeKalb County. Because the best advice doesn’t always come from a book — it comes from someone who’s been in the trenches.
If you own a business, want to start one, or just want to be part of a community that believes in this town — you belong here.
Follow along. Come to the event. Reach out.
We’re building this together.
